Promoting your website in search listings

Many website owners have heard of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) but may not be familiar with the multitude of factors invloved. Search engines like Google, Yahoo!, and Bing use an algorithm to determine the relevancy of the pages on your website as they pertain to the search that a given user performs. This ranking system is known as PageRank. Search Engine Optimization is the process of increasing a website's visibility to customers by increasing it's PageRank and moving the site upwards in search listings.

PageRank is calculated using a combination of on the page and off the page factors (see below). There is no magic solution to get your site promoted in search listings overnight, however a combination of many different tweaks and changes can increase and solidify your site's position at the top of search listings, keeping your site at the forefront of your customer's attention.
